Our story
Ballota is more than just a brand. It's about preserving traditions and valuing what is genuine and authentic. The name Ballota comes from the Ballota nigra flower, which was once used as a natural wick in oil lamps, producing a soft and delicately scented light. Even today, this plant is known as "the lamp herb" or "the wick herb."
We revive ancestral techniques that connect us to the past, such as traditional embroidery and ceramics, and combine them with the beauty of nature to create products that are, above all, authentic.
Our commitment is simple: to create with tradition and soul, respecting time, natural cycles, and the legacy of our grandparents.

Creation Process
At Ballota, each piece is born from a meticulous process that respects nature and Portuguese artisanal traditions.
- It all begins with the natural harvesting of flowers and elements from the field, selected with care and respect for nature's cycles.
- Then, the materials are carefully dried and prepared to preserve their beauty, texture, and aroma.
- Finally, each creation is handmade, using artisanal techniques that keep tradition alive and transform each piece into something unique.
